Ten Favorite Connecticut Kid Activities

	1. Stafford Motor Speedway Take your mini motorheads to Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT for a day of NASCAR, Monster Truck Jams, SK Modified racing and more. Many of Stafford’s weekend events include fireworks displays.
	2. Beardsley Zoo Take a trip to Bridgeport and visit the Beardsley Zoo. With more than 300 North and South American species of animals, this zoo will delight the kids with its various displays. Popular stops include the South American Rainforest and the New England Farmyard.
	3. Discovery Museum With daily planetarium shows and three floors of hands-on science activities, the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport offers something for children of all ages. Explore the Robot Carnival, the only Challenger Learning Center in CT, or galleries focused on electricity, electronics and magnetism.
	4. The Children’s Museum Located in West Hartford, the Children’s Museum offers fun activities year-round. Popular exhibits include the Travelers Science Dome, the UTC Wildlife Sanctuary, Excavation Station and Turtle Town.
	5. Hammonasset State Park With over 2 miles of beach for swimming, skimming, body surfing and relaxing, Hammonasset State Park is Connecticut’s largest shoreline park. Explore the beachside walking trails, do a bit of fishing or discover the Nature Center exhibits with the kids this summer.
	6. Quassy Amusement Park Not only is Quassy Amusement Park full of rides and activities, it has been entertaining Middlebury families since 1908. With such rides as the YoYo Super Swing, the Big Flush water coaster and the Saturation Station, this park will keep the kids going all day long.
	7. Mystic Aquarium Long considered one of America’s leading aquariums, Mystic Aquarium celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2008. Kids will enjoy getting close to penguins, rays and beluga whales. Be sure to catch a sea lion show or feeding time at the shark tanks when you visit this Mystic attraction.
	8. Stepping Stones Museum With a hands-on approach to learning, the Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk features four main galleries for the 10 and under crowd as well as a toddlers-only gallery. Adventures include Healthyville, Waterscape, ColorCoaster and Rainforest Adventure.
	9. Lake Compounce Amusement Park Lake Compounce Amusement Park has been entertaining families for over 160 years, making it America’s oldest operating amusement park. With countless thrill rides for the big kids, family rides for the tots and live performances, Lake Compounce will delight all of the kids.
	10. Seaside Park Beach Located in Bridgeport, Seaside Park Beach offers the best of summer beach activities. With bath houses, ball fields, picnic areas, hiking trails, boat launches and the Bridgeport Lighthouse, it’s no surprise this is one of Connecticut’s most popular beaches.
