With over 332 acres of fun, Lake Compounce is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in North America, welcoming families since 1846. Over the years, the park’s transformation has tastefully integrated its natural beauty and rich heritage with a blend of classical and contemporary rides, live shows, and entertaining attractions. While most theme parks offer a variety of coasters and family rides, Lake Compounce combines unique and exciting thrill rides and coasters for all ages with a full-sized water park—all for one low price. Over the past 12 years, Lake Compounce has invested more than 40 million in rides and attractions, including three new rides for 2009. As the park continues to delight families from all around the New England area and beyond, the balance of evolution and tradition continues to play an important role at the nation’s first amusement park. Lake Compounce is home to several thrill rides that include the "Wildcat" and "Zoomerang" coasters and the world-famous "Boulder Dash" wooden roller coaster and "Thunder N’ Lightning" pendulum ride. Family rides include "Pirate Ship", "Wave Swinger" and "Ghost Hunt" dark ride as well as the "Thunder Rapids" and "Saw Mill Plunge" water rides. The park’s children’s area, Garfield’s Circus World, features ten rides just for guests under the age of ten. Kids can ride a carousel, bumper cars, swings and the "Wildkitten" coaster. Guests of all ages can enjoy a trip around the park on the trolley or "Lake Railroad" or take a ride up the mountainside on the "Sky Ride". Splash Harbor water park is included with park admission and includes the "Anchor Bay" lazy river as well as a wave pool. The wave pool also features the "Clipper Cove" children’s play area with Pirate Ship, play structure, slides, tipping bucket and interactive water features.
