Ashford boasts having 4 places on the National Register of Historic Places; Ashford Academy, Church Farm, Knowlton Memorial Hall, and Mixer Tavern. Ashford is also home to the largest Boy Scout camp in all of Connecticut. While visiting Ashford check out the Boston Hollow, a deep ravine that is an ancient fault in the Avalonian bedrock of the eastern highlands of Connecticut. There is only one trail that goes through the Boston Hollow, the Nipmuck Trail. Nipmucks was the name of the native American tribe that lived in this area.
