Pear Tree Point Beach is an 8-acre beach loaded with amenities including picnic tables and grills, a bath house, a gazebo, and a concession stand in addition to two great beaches. It also features an excellent boat launch ramp. There is a fee.

Rickards Beach is a large sandy beach located next to Penfield Beach. Bring your umbrella and enjoy an afternoon playing in the Long Island Sound. Parking is available at Penfield Beach and a sticker is required.There is a fee.

This sandy beach is a great place to spend the day strolling along the edge of the Long Island Sound. Put your sea-kayak in for a day of paddling in the Sound. There is a fee for non-residents to use this site.

Southport Beach offers fine views of the Long Island Sound. There is a fee for non-residents to use site but there is no on-site parking for non-residents. There is no public access sign at this site and there is no sign for Southport Beach.
Grassy Island

The coastline of Grassy Island is mostly gravel and fine sand and provides sheltered landing areas. Overnight camping is allowed by a permit from the City of Norwalk. There is a fee.

Cove Island Park

Cove Island Park has it all including developed recreation facilities such as a 1-mile loop walking/running trail, children’s play area, a roller blade/cycling path and expansive lawn areas for kite-flying. There are two sandy beaches, a small salt marsh, intertidal mudflats and the estuarine embayments of Holly Pond and the Cove River that provide opportunities for birders to observe water birds. There is a fee.

Cummings Park is a beautiful, 79-acre park on Long Island Sound. Visitors can enjoy the beach, pavilions, snack bar, board walk and fishing pier. The park offers a variety of outdoor recreation facilities including tennis courts, handball and basketball courts, playground, four softball fields, rest rooms and parking. There is a fee.

Burying Hill Beach and Wetlands is located across the street from Greens Farms Academy, walking distance to Greens Farms railroad station and adjacent to Sherwood Island State Park beach. A small quiet beachfront overlooking Long Island Sound with picnic tables and grills. A parking fee is required from Memorial Day to October 1st.

Cockenoe Island is off Seymour Point in Westport and only accessible by boat. There is a boat launch ramp at Compo Beach and Marina and Saugatuck River State Boat Launch in Westport. No fee.

Compo Beach and Marina is a 29-acre park with something for everyone. The park features extensive beach areas, a concession stand and, pavilion, bath houses with lockers, and picnic areas including grills on south beach. For the more active, the park features a huge wooden playscape, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, open skate areas, and a softball field. Use of the marina and boat launch area requires a permit. There is a fee.

Old Mill Beach

Old Mill Beach is a small public beach in a residential area on Hills Point Road. Open year-round, with benches overlooking the waterfront (lifeguards are never stationed at Old Mill). Take a walk to the Mill Pond and enjoy the wildlife. Parking lot is limited to residents-only May through September (a parking emblem is required), but on-street parking is available to the general public. No fee.
